Since 2001, Gray Academy students have performed large-scale musicals much to the delight of parents, friends and relatives. Each year, we alternate between a high school performance and an elementary school performance. Here is a list of recent musicals that have graced our stage:
  • Willy Wonka Junior (Elementary) 2009
  • Pippin (High School) 2009
  • Once Upon a Mattress (Elementary) 2008
  • Urinetown (High School) 2007
  • Aladdin (Elementary) 2006
  • Fame (High School) 2005
  • Honk (Elementary) 2004
  • Bye Bye Birdie (High School) 2003
  • Guys and Dolls (High School) 2001
We have decided on “13”  the musical of a young boy becoming Bar Mitzvah is this year’s high school musical that will be presented at the CCFM November 30th, December 1 and December 2, 2010. The show is cast, but anyone still wanting to be part of the show is welcome to audition when school begins in September. As well, dance auditions will be held on September 7th in the music room. Rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays. Email me at mbronstein@grayacademy.ca with concerns or questions. A blog is set up with all current rehearsal schedules and cast information.  It will be running when school begins. The blog will be updated as rehearsals progress and during the rehearsal process should be checked daily by the cast and families. www.gajemusical.com/13

The school band meets every Monday and Thursday after school under the musical direction of David Hasselfield. (Junior Band: 3:50 – 4:20, Intermediate Band: 4:20 – 4:50, Senior Band: 4:50 – 5:30)
