As students begin to mature in their later elementary years, various forms of cooperative learning strategies allow students to become self-sufficient, independent, active learners and members of the larger classroom and school communities.

Our students are encouraged to connect with their subject matter by:

  • creatively exploring thoughts, ideas, feelings and experiences.
  • managing varying ideas and information.
  • exploring their logical thinking, problem solving, and data analysis skills.
  • interacting cooperatively with classmates and nurturing community.

Interrelated topics between subject areas allow students to see connections across different subjects, and recognize the personal relevance of the various topics covered.
